Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

SameDay is a free tool that respects your privacy. Here's exactly what happens with your data — no legalese, just plain English.

What We Collect

When you use SameDay, you enter your first name and date of birth. This information is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage on your own device. It is never transmitted to our servers, never shared with third parties, and never leaves your device.

If you add personal circle milestones (family members, friends), that data is also stored only in your browser's local storage on your device.

What We Don't Collect

We do not collect email addresses, passwords, payment information, IP addresses, or any personally identifiable information. We do not have user accounts. We do not track individual users. We have no database of user information because your data never leaves your browser.

External Services

SameDay connects to the following external services:

Wikidata (query.wikidata.org) — We query Wikidata's public SPARQL API to fetch historical milestone data. These queries contain no personal information. Wikidata is operated by the Wikimedia Foundation and is governed by their own privacy policy.

Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) — We load typefaces from Google Fonts. Google may collect basic usage data as described in their privacy policy.

Google AdSense — We display ads through Google AdSense, which may use cookies to serve ads based on your browsing history. You can learn more about how Google uses your data at Google's advertising policies page. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ad Settings.

Cookies

SameDay itself does not set any cookies. However, third-party services (Google AdSense, Google Fonts) may set their own cookies. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

Local Storage

We use your browser's local storage feature to save your preferences, name, birthdate, loaded milestone data, and personal circle entries. This data stays entirely on your device. You can clear it at any time by using the "Reset App" button in Settings, or by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.

Children's Privacy

SameDay is a general-audience tool. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since all data is stored locally in the browser and never transmitted to us, we have no means of identifying the age of any user.

Data Retention

Since your data is stored only in your browser, you have complete control over it. We retain nothing. If you clear your browser data or use the "Reset App" button, all of your information is permanently deleted.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Since we don't collect email addresses, we cannot notify you directly, so we encourage you to review this page periodically.
